So I had one of those weird, this-should-have-been-obvious epiphanies yesterday—I need to start eating healthier. I guess there are two main reasons:

1) The stuff I eat is crap, seriously.
2) Sometimes when I’m stressed, I binge. And shouldn’t I be binging on, um, carrots?

For a long time I’ve been proudly milking my anti-domesticity, ethic Judaism, college laxness, etc.—”I like meals that come in bar form,” “The only thing I cook with is a microwave,” “I need Chinese food once a week,” etc.

I actually really enjoy a lot of vegetables, and frequently order spinach- and mushroom-heavy things when I go out, but I’ve made very little effort to incorporate these things into my day-to-day diet. So I bought some kashi and a bunch of veggies, which I hope to supplement tomorrow with some V8. And some cookbooks. Like, for dummies.

This is the ugliest thing I’ve ever seen. And I like Uggs.
